Local MP supporting Macmillan's 'Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning'

September 26, 2007 3:00 PM

Local MP Tim Farron will be taking part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday 28 September.

The aim of this morning is to have fun and to raise money for people living with cancer.

Last year 50,000 fun filled coffee mornings were attended by 2 million people up and down the country and not only raised a staggering £6.5 million between them but also had a great time catching up with friends, family and colleagues.

Local MP Tim Farron is delighted to be attending the event:

"One in three people will get cancer with 1.2 million in the UK living with the disease and I know how cancer has personally touched and affected so many of my constituents.

"I hope everyone in Westmorland and Lonsdale will join in the fun and take part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning to help Macmillan Cancer Support be there for more people living with cancer."

If you are a resident of the Westmorland and Lonsdale constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
