"Like many others, I spent the early hours of the morning eagerly waiting the news that we had all been hoping for. The news, that America now has its first black President.

"Barack Obama is an exceptionally gifted politician who can deliver real change to a country that has been stuck in the mud for the last eight years.

"For too long America has bullied rather than lead. Barack Obama will restore credibility and integrity to America. Obama's election will change the dynamics of global politics from one of aggression to engagement. Now let's hope he can deliver."
