"Displaced dental patients should be allowed to return to NHS" says Farron

Local MP, Tim Farron has welcomed confirmation from the Cumbria PCT that a new NHS dentistry will be established in the New Year; but has asked for assurances that patients forced to go private after the Captain French practice's decision to turn private would be guaranteed a place under the new NHS service.
Following Captain French's decision to go private, many patients were forced to either sign up for private treatment or wait for a replacement NHS dentist.
Commenting Mr Farron said:
"I am delighted that, we have the promise of new NHS dentist provision in south Lakeland. This result has not happened overnight; but has been well worth the fight.
"With a new NHS dentist in the region, people who are refugees from the Captain French surgery will no longer be forced to choose between pricey private care and no care at all.
"Now that a decision has been made, there must be a guarantee that patients who had already chosen to go private under the assumption that they would not get a replacement NHS dentist are welcomed back in to the NHS fold, without being out of pocket."
