HUGE POWER OF PUBCOS COMES UNDER THE MICROSCOPE

The Business and Enterprise Select Committee held its first evidence session this morning of a critical examination of the conduct of Pubcos and the supply tie. Tim Farron, MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, who along with Greg Mulholland MP and various organisations from across the pub trade led calls for the enquiry commented:

"This enquiry has come at exactly the right time.

"All over the country there are numerous examples of pub landlords having to cope with unreasonable terms and conditions, which are coming on top of incredibly difficult economic conditions.

"It is becoming a burden that many pubs are finding it too difficult to bear, and it is high time that it was looked at."
