Local youngsters perform charity song in Westminster

MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale Tim Farron saw a group of local children from South Lakeland perform their recently recorded charity song at an event organised by the Department for Children, Family and Schools.

The children, who are from the Whitewood and Fleming youth arts group from Ulverston, performed their single titled "Every Dream Matters" as part of an event celebrating the anniversary of the royal ascent of the Children and Young Persons Act.

Mr Farron said:

"I'm absolutely thrilled that the children have been given such a wonderful opportunity to perform in Westminster.

"The song is extremely well produced and is particularly touching as we approach the Christmas period which is a time when so many children rely on the kindness of charity."
