Local MP presents prize to Christmas card winner

December 12, 2008 3:21 PM

Tim Farron MP has announced the long-awaited results of his annual Christmas card competition. He presented the first prize to Brooklyn Walling, aged 4, at Milnthorpe Primary School this morning.

Brooklyn's design has been made into a Christmas card which is being delivered to 40,000 homes across the South Lakes. Second prize went to Bradley Jones of Sandgate School, Kendal and third prize to Laura Haggin of Heron Hill School, Kendal. All three winners have received book tokens.

Speaking after the prize giving, Tim said: "I had great fun choosing our winners this year, and the decision was not an easy one.

"The presentation this morning was a really enjoyable way to start my week; Brooklyn's design has made a brilliant Christmas card.

"I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the pupils who took part and wish all of them a very Merry Christmas!"

If you are a resident of the Westmorland and Lonsdale constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
