South Lakes MP Tim Farron joined with volunteers and health practitioners at the weekend to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Westmorland General's complementary therapy clinic being opened.
On Saturday 14th November from 10:00am till 4:30pm a variety of complimentary treatments like reflexology, aromatherapy and reiki were offered to members of the public on the hospital's Dunmail unit.
In recent years alternative therapies have gained popularity and are now seen by many as an accompaniment to conventional medicine, and many people use them.
After the event, Tim said: "I was delighted to attend the event, see so many people and meet the complimentary therapy team. It was also great to see the variety of therapies on offer on the Dunmail Unit and I even got to try some of them out myself!
"To see the unit going from strength to strength after ten years is fantastic. When I was chatting to people on Saturday I saw the real value of these treatments to the patients so I want to thank Hazel Morris and her team for their hard work."
