Tim Farron - action not just words for the South Lakes

MPs triathlon success

12.00.00am GMT Tue 21st Mar 2006

Local MP Tim Farron successfully completed his charity triathlon on Saturday 18th March in aid of North West Cancer Research Fund and New Holehird. Tim and his team trekked through snow to reach their start point by Grizedale Tarn. Tim then ran, sailed and cycled to Humphrey Head Point arriving at around 5pm.

Tim commented: "The hardest point was getting to the starting point through the ice and snow - after that it was all down hill, literally! I really enjoyed myself and want to thank all of those who have sponsored and supported me in this - I was particularly touched by children who sponsored me with their pocket money. We will now collect in all the money raised and pass it on to help New Holehird and the fight against cancer".

Anyone who has sponsored Tim, or would like to do so retrospectively, should make cheques payable to 'Charity Triathlon' and send them to Tim Farron MP, The Cottage, Yard 2, Stricklandgate, Kendal, LA9 4ND.
