MP to meet with traffic concerned traders

12.00.00am GMT Tue 14th Mar 2006

Local MP Tim Farron is concerned about the lack of consultation with traders and local residents over the traffic changes currently underway in Kendal and with the apparent lack of co-ordination of the work.

Tim will be meeting with local traders later in the week to get feedback from them about the developments and find ways he may be of assistance.

As a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Small Shops Tim is concerned about how the changes may be affecting trade for local businesses and is keen to help find solutions to the problems they face.

Tim commented: "I am interested in seeking the views of local traders and residents of Kendal about how we can make life easier for them. It is a great shame that the concerns of these people regarding the traffic changes have not been taken more seriously. I am eager to offer them my assistance".
