Work continues to save Sedbergh's Auction Mart2.51.30pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 9th May 2006 Local MP Tim Farron is continuing to work to save Sedbergh's Auction Mart. The Mart, which held its final sale at the end of April, now faces an uncertain future. This week, Tim Farron is setting up a meeting between the Mart's owners, CCM, and the embryonic farmer's co-operative group who hope to take over the running of the Mart. The meeting's purpose will be to give the co-operative a chance to talk to CCM about the possible take over. Tim Farron says: "After such a positive response from the local community to the setting up of a co-operative, I very much hope that the meeting with CCM will provide a way forwards, allowing the Mart to transfer into the co-operative's hands. However, the success of this project will very much depend on the good-will and commitment to this rural community of CCM."
