MP makes last ditch attempt to save local bus service

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 11th Jul 2006

As the future of the Carnforth Connect bus service hangs in the balance, local MP, Tim Farron, has written to Lancashire County Council to urge them to save the popular bus route.

Mr Farron said: "Sadly, the future of this vital community service now looks extremely uncertain.

"I was very pleased that we were able to put a package in place last year to keep the popular bus running. However, it is now in trouble once more.

"I have written to Lancashire County Council to ask them to save this bus service. Unless they make the necessary funding available, this is likely to be the Carnforth Connect's last summer."
