Farron backs call for complete broadband coverage

10.36.29am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 27th Sep 2006

Local MP, Tim Farron met with Richard Walters and Derek Hewitt from Commendium to discuss 'Project Access' today. The project will hopefully see communities all over Cumbria being able to access reliable broadband internet technology. Tim was particularly concerned about those parts of his constituency that at present are unable to access broadband, like Old Hutton, Cowgill and the Duddon Valley.

After the meeting Tim said:

"I am pleased to hear from Commendium that progress is being made to bring broadband internet access to these areas soon.

"I am concerned however that this development has not come soon enough for those who have been crying out for access to these services for an awfully long time now".
