Statement from Tim Farron MP on movement restrictions3.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 25th Sep 2007 Following the announcement today that farm to farm animal movement restrictions outside Surrey would be relaxed as of 3.30pm today, Tim Farron has issued the following statement: " I applaud DEFRA officials for taking this step. Following the negative test results on farms in Suffolk and Hampshire, it would seem that the disease has not spread any further than the control zones in Surrey. This is a step in the right direction - but I am now calling on DEFRA to set out a timetable towards the ending of the ban on movement of animals to livestock sales."
