Tim Farron MP - Working for Westmorland and Lonsdale

CALLING NOTICE Farron to tell Ministers to send Acute Services Review back to drawing board

3.00.00pm GMT Mon 22nd Oct 2007

When: Tuesday 22nd October, 1.30-2pm

Where: Westminster Hall, House of Commons

With: Minister from the Department of Health

Tim Farron MP has secured a Westminster Hall debate on the Acute Services Review at Westmorland General Hospital. During the debate, Mr Farron will get a chance to ask a Minister from the Department for Health to instruct the Primary Care Trust to send the Review back to the drawing board, because of the innumerable failures that have resulted in a complete loss of public confidence.

Ahead of the debate, Tim Farron said:

"The closure of the heart unit at Westmorland General Hospital will put lives at risk, and the list of errors in the review are too numerous to list here, but suffice it to say the public has lost all confidence in its validity. I have been pressing for a debate on the Review for a number of weeks now, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to question a Health Minister directly."
