Post office campaign - Bring your letters to Tim Farron this Saturday!

3.00.00pm GMT Wed 30th Jan 2008

Local MP Tim Farron is urging local residents to make a final push in the campaign to save our post offices, by delivering supportive letters for their post office to him this Saturday, and also by signing the petition. Tim will have a stall at the 'birdcage' in Kendal town centre where he hopes to recruit many more local residents to his campaign to keep open the 42 post offices in his constituency that are at risk of closure.

The campaign has already gathered huge support from thousands of residents from all corners of the constituency as the announcement deadline approaches in mid-March.

Tim Farron said:

"This campaign is far from a lost cause. I am urging people to come and give me their letters of support, or sign the petitions to keep these vital local branches open.

"I am hugely impressed by the level of support already shown for post offices, but the more people we get on board the better!"
