Tim pulls the first pint of Hawkshead bitter in the Stranger's Bar

MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, Tim Farron, today pulled the first pint of Hawkshead Bitter in the Stranger's Bar following a two year campaign to take it to Parliament.

Commenting Tim said:

"I'm delighted to pull the first pint of Hawkshead in Parliament.

"As a real ale man, it can be hard to find proper pint in Westminster-but now that Hawkshead is available there can be no complaints. We're really proud of Hawkshead brewery, an important local employer which helps to add value to the important Lake District 'brand'. Its great to be able to bring the beer to national attention in this way.

"But just to make sure that there were no grumblings from the regulars, Alex Brodie of the Hawkshead Brewery has dispatched me with a widget so that every pint poured has a good head on it in the traditional northern way."
