MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale celebrated the contribution of local youngsters in the community by speaking at the v-involved parliamentary reception.

Tim talked about his own experiences volunteering and showed his support for V-involved- a national youth charity which provides opportunities for young people to volunteer in their communities.

Tim recently attended a v-involved project at Rydal Hall, near Ambleside, where he got his hands dirty gardening with young people.

Commenting after the event Tim said:

"Projects like this do a fantastic job encouraging people who may not consider volunteering to get involved.

"Today has been a welcome opportunity to celebrate the fantastic work of young people in the South Lakes.

"Volunteer projects are at the heart of any functioning community and I'm delighted that its importance has been recognised in this way."
