Farron welcomes Lloyd Webber grant for Lakes School

April 1, 2013 7:23 PM

TF ruralSouth Lakes MP Tim Farron has today said he is 'delighted' at the news that The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation has donated £10,000 to the Lakes School.

The funding for the LakesSchool will go towards the costs of updating and revamping the school theatre into a modern flexible performance space.

Since 2011, the Foundation has donated over £7 million to a wide range of projects with a focus on supporting talented young artists and developing future audiences. The Foundation believes that in order to maintain vibrancy in the arts, it is imperative for young artists of all backgrounds and abilities to be nurtured and encouraged.

Tim said: "This is fantastic news! I want to pay tribute to Adam Theobald and all the pupils and staff at the Lakes School. The school is a real hub for arts and this money will make a big difference in the months and years ahead."
