MP says 'Help Allithwaite school win new computer equipment'

October 3, 2013 10:08 AM

TF KendalSouth Lakes MP Tim Farron has asked local residents to join with him and vote to support Allithwaite Primary School win IT equipment classroom worth £3,000 in a competition run by Lloyds Bank.

The school in their bid said that they wished 'to bridge the gap between our young and older people in a semi-rural community. To do this, we hope to work together to bring young and old together to learn through ICT. This, we hope, will reduce rural isolation and empower both our children and older community.' If they are successful the funds will help pay for tablet computers that will used by students and local residents.

It will also give residents of the village the opportunity to meet at the school and use the equipment.
