Recall of parliament affects MP's advice surgery

September 24, 2014 6:06 PM

TF KendalBecause of the recall of Parliament to discuss potential action against ISIL (the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant), South Lakes MP Tim Farron will no longer be able to be present at his advice surgery on Friday.

The surgery at the Castle Street Centre from 10am to 11am will still go ahead without Tim. Instead a senior councillor and a member of Tim's staff will be present who will give constituents the same level of confidentiality and support that they would get from Tim.

Tim next surgery will be on Tuesday 30th September at the Victoria Hall, Grange-Over-Sands from 4:00-5:00pm. No appointment is needed to attend any of Tim's advice surgeries, please just turn up.

Alternatively local residents can call Tim's office on 01539 723403 or email him at tim@timfarron.co.uk

Tim said: "I try to hold regular advice surgeries to make sure I am accessible and available for local people to discuss any issue. But because of the urgent recall of Parliament I will obviously not be present on Friday.

"The advice surgery will go ahead, just without me. My staff will be able to help residents with any issue they have. But if people wish to speak to me face to face, I have organised another surgery for next Tuesday in Grange.

"As always if I can help with any issue, either big or small, please do get in touch. I'm here to help."
