November 27, 2014 2:06 PM

TF KendalLocal MP Tim Farron has backed a mini-jobs fair being hosted by South Lakes Housing and said it's a 'great route into a job with some fantastic local organisations'.

The event will be held on Thursday 11th December between 2pm and 7pm at the Bridge Mills Business Centre, Stramongate, Kendal.

South Lakes Housing, (SLH) The Oaklea Trust, South Lakeland Credit Union and South Lakes Citizens Advice Bureau will be offering a number of vacant opportunities, including at SLH, four full time Apprenticeships as Housing Officer, Surveyor, Electrician and Joiner, as well as a full time permanent Joiner vacancy and part time Customer Assistant post.

The Oaklea Trust currently offer various Community Home Care positions across the county. Members of Staff from all four organisations will also be on-hand to discuss the different roles being offered and to provide help and guidance to potential applicants.

Tim said: "This is a wonderful event and I support it wholeheartedly. The organisations at the event are doing fantastic work and I'm sure being part of a successful team that makes a difference would be an ideal job, for many people in our area.

"At the event there will not just be full time and part time roles advertised, there will also be apprenticeship vacancies on offer which give people, especially young people, the chance to earn and learn."
