MP: Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale named amongst the best places in the UK to live

March 2, 2015 12:36 PM

TF KendalLocal MP Tim Farron has welcomed the news that Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale have been named as two of the '101 best places to live in Britain' in the Sunday Times.

The towns were chosen based on how they benefit the widest number of people. The factors considered ranged from positive community spirit, to good shops and attractive outdoor spaces.

Tim said: "This is great news! Kirkby Lonsdale and Kendal are like many communities in South Lakeland - wonderful places to live and bring up a family. We are lucky to have great schools, local amenities, a wonderful landscape and a fantastic sense of community. Our campaign is to build on this and keep fighting for more well paid jobs and more affordable homes."
