Local MP Tim Farron today visited Playdale Playgrounds, a leading South Lakes business, to see for himself the firm's recent success and hear about its future plans.
The family-run business, based in Haverthwaite and with three sites in the area, employs 140 people. In recent years it has expanded rapidly, and now exports to 28 countries.
Tim was shown around the site, and discussed with bosses the firm's plans for future expansion.
Earlier this year, Playdale were given the National Business Exporter of the Year Award by the Federation of Small Businesses.
Tim said: "It is fantastic to see a local business be so successful, and employ so many people in our area. Playdale has already experienced impressive growth, and has ambitious plans to expand and increase exports further. South Lakeland is a great place for businesses to be based, and I hope a site can be found for Playdale to expand without leaving our area."
