MP Urges Businesses To Attend Google Workshop

July 8, 2016 5:01 PM

Tim Farron MPSouth Lakeland MP Tim Farron is encouraging local entrepreneurs and business people to attend a workshop in Kendal run by online giant Google.

The event, organised by the District Council, is part of Google's Digital Garage programme. Their experts will give businesses tips on how to make the most of their web presence. It will include advice on using online marketing and web analytics to reach new customers, and how to develop engaging content online.

Tim will give a short speech to the business leaders. The event will also be an opportunity for local entrepreneurs and business people to network.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday July 13th, from 10-12am. It will be free, but businesses need to register beforehand. To sign up click here: http://www.southlakeland.gov.uk/business-and-trade/business-events/

Tim said: "South Lakeland has a thriving entrepreneurial culture, and this workshop will help our businesses make the most of the opportunities the internet offers. Having a strong online presence will be critical to the success of our local businesses, and help to create more jobs and opportunities for local people. That's why I'm keen to host Google's experts in Kendal. The knowledge and experience they bring is a brilliant resource for local businesses and I encourage as many people as possible to sign up and take advantage of the free advice that is on offer from their experts.

"My thanks go to the District Council for organising this event as part of their work to support South Lakes businesses."
