An RPA source today revealed that hundreds of common land payment claims are still outstanding, despite Farming Minister George Eustice reportedly telling the Northern Farming Conference that he thought all commons payments had been made.
Some Cumbrian farmers are yet to receive full payment for their common land claims, despite it being almost a year since the payment window opened.
Tim continues to take up the case of local farmers who are still waiting to receive all the money they are due.
Tim said: "It is utterly shocking that the RPA has still not completed all the farm support payments for 2015. They will soon start paying out on next year's claims, yet there are still farmers waiting for last year's payments with bills to pay.
"To then add insult to injury, the Farming Minister himself appears to dismiss the problems these farmers face. If he knew they had not been paid, then he deliberately misled the conference. If he didn't know, then he doesn't even know what is going on in his own department. Either way, the minister has serious questions to answer."
