MP to host farmers Q&A event at Junction 36 auction centre next week

Tim at Poole Bank Farm in TroutbeckNext Friday (November 5th) farmers in Westmorland and Lonsdale will be able to quiz local MP Tim Farron and representatives from DEFRA and the Rural Payments Agency at a special Q&A event.

The session will take place at the Rural Auction Centre at Junction 36 from 4.30-6.30pm.

Tim will be joined by Paul Caldwell, the Chief Executive of the Rural Payments Agency (RPA), Sandy Kapila, Head of External Affairs at the RPA, and Louise Maguire from DEFRA's Future Farming & Countryside Programme.

Speaking ahead of the event, Tim said: "I'm delighted to be hosting this special Q&A event next week.

"There has never been a more uncertain time for British and Cumbrian farming and so this will be a great opportunity for local farmers to put their questions and concerns to representatives from DEFRA and the RPA."
