EU Solidarity Funding
EU Solidarity Funding exists to help member states struck by major natural disasters, but the government must apply within twelve weeks of when the disaster first hit.
The government has not applied for EU Solidarity Funding to help deal with the aftermath of Storm Desmond, despite the fact that the UK would be eligible for millions of pounds of EU funds.
With accountancy firm KPMG now estimating the total cost of the flood damage at £5bn, the UK could be eligible for up to £125 million of funding, of which 10% would be made available immediately.

I/We the undersigned petition the government to apply without delay for EU Solidarity Funding, to help repair the devastating damage caused by the floods.
